So apart from my bust (grrr), everything is improving so Im happy. Havent done a lot of exercise over the past month - just a few zumba classes here and there - but have improved what goes into my mouth - both food and drink. Less fizzy, more water, more fruits and veg, and it seems it has helped. So onward and upward (I mean, er, downward...)

Indigestion

So this week:

My new weekly habit was to move. Havent been to the gym but did some great bouts of housework, along with a busy week at work which meant a lot more moving around. Pretty poor effort on my part tho. So lets try that habit again next week.

Been doing well with meals tho. Been having very hearty smoothies for breakfast, as inspired by Miss Burlace. V8 juice, fruit, frozen berries, bit of yoghurt, protein powder, lsa and psyllium. Yummo - and nice and filling and it helps that I know its good for me.
Dinner in the past has been difficult - living with a boy that can eat a lot makes it hard. Its been easy to just dish up two similar sized meals, when clearly he needs more food than I do. And he needs carbs to fill him up - damn active male metabolism. So this week - Ive been serving half the meat and veg to him, quarter to me, and quarter to a container for my lunch the following day. And he gets 95% of the rice or pasta - I do add a little to my lunch container but none for dinner. And chewing my food more - making a conscious effort not to just swallow it down after 4 or 5 chews. That stuff I am feeling good about - and its working well.

Except last night. I have been reading a lot about digestion and stuff lately. And I know that as a rule, pork takes a lot longer for our systems to digest. But generally, your stomach empties after about half an hour. Last night, we ate about 8pm, and I made a pork stir fry thing. All cooked properly. Jeremy had no problems. At 11pm-ish, I started to feel physically ill. It felt like my stomach was still full and it was really uncomfortable. And it all decided to come back up about 11.30. It was all my pork from dinner, and not well chewed at all which did not help. So obviously I didnt pay attention to that properly last night, but Im still not sure what exactly caused the vomiting.

So that has then meant that all of today I have been off food, and wary of anything I do eat because I dont want to deal with anything else coming back up again. So bad food choices like chocolate and chippies. But one day does not ruin all my hard work - tomorrow is another day :)

And in the future, if I manage to eat pork again anytime soon, CHEW CHEW CHEW!!!!

Habit 2

So the water habit is going well. If I dont drink enough my body tells me by giving me a headache. Im loving the water. Loving it with lime juice added - yum!!!

So now time for Habit 2. Planned exercise and more incidental exercise. Our house needs a good clean so that should help too :)

This week

Water intake is definitely on the up. Intake of other drinks is decreased. I even had a 600ml of coke zero today and only managed a couple of sips. And that was the first time all week so im happy. Been adding a little lime juice to my water to make it tastier too. Got a bottle on the coffee table, a bottle on the bedside table, and a bottle at work. Getting much better :) The only problem is my pea sized bladder, especially when its busy at work, but i'll get there :)

Today I have only drunk 1 litre of water. But given that it is a Sunday, thats almost a litre more than I would usually have - so pretty impressed with my progress :)

Habit 1 - Water

So I said I was doing this a few weeks ago - but now starting for real.

Habit number 1 - drinking water

So drinking water when I wake, with every meal, whenever Im hungry. Must drink more water. This will be my main focus for this week.
